Casey County Apple Festival
The Casey County Apple Festival began in 1974 and is still going strong today. This popular street festival is held every September in the streets of downtown Liberty. The festival boasts live music, street vendors, pageants, sporting events, and a carnival for the children. You might know it by being the home of the World's Largest Apple Pie! Apples are a big part of our county's history. For many generations, Casey County had 30,000 apple trees, which was about 17% of the state's crop. Learn More
Central KY Ag-Expo Center
The Central KY Ag-Expo Center is a versatile 160-acre venue that is host to many special events throughout the year. Popular events held here include Barrell Racing Competitions, Livestock Expositions, The Casey County Fair, and the 127 Yard Sale Market. The land is open to the public and has several miles of hiking trails that go around the perimeter of the property. One trail includes a water crossing that connects directly to downtown Liberty. Lights of Liberty Theater
Lights of Liberty Theater was originally opened as the Kentuckian Theater in May of 1950. The Kentuckian closed its doors in the 1970's and it remained empty until it was reopened in 2013. The theater has been completely renovated, updated with the latest technology and is showing the latest hits on two screens with 3D capability. Casey County Public Library
We consider ourselves very lucky to have a library that plays such an active role in the community. The Casey County Public Library offers several community services and classes, but they know how to have fun, too! Check out their event calendar to see what they are planning next! Lake Liberty
This 88-acre lake is a wonderful place to go to for canoeing, kayaking, fishing, and wildlife viewing. Since combustion propelled watercraft and swimming is not allowed, Lake Liberty is a peaceful place to get away from it all and reconnect with nature. It is open to the public from 6 AM - midnight 7 days a week.
Amish-Mennonite Community
The scenic South Fork Area of the county is home to many Amish and Mennonite communities. Amish businesses in the area offer household goods that you just won't find anywhere else! Please exercise caution while driving through this area as there are many pedestrians and horse drawn buggies traveling the roads as well. Learn More
Lake Cumberland
Lake Cumberland is a large 101 sq. mile lake that has been a recreational hot spot for several generations. Many marinas, resorts, and parks are available at all corners of the lake. Lake Cumberland is about 35 minutes south of Liberty traveling Highway 127. If you have never visited Lake Cumberland, be sure to check out 76 Falls, Wolf Creek Dam, or Cumberland Falls State Park.
